They claim to be associated with Etherium, but it's not "real" Etherium (too expensive) but rather some "side chain" called xDai that might have something to do with a test network associated with Etherium. There is too much unfamiliar jargon to say for sure.
But with all the obscure cryptocurrencies out there, who can tell? Probably better to consider it not real. It seems they give you "money" to get started. There might be a way to buy more game credits.
I don't expect it to actually be fun and it's probably not important; just posting it to show how deep the rabbit hole goes. Some of this stuff seems not to have much to do with mainstream debates about cryptocurrency?
