I enjoy Kotaku for the silly stuff and used to like Jason Schreier's pieces. But I stay clear from it for anything serious, as well as the other blogs from its group. What they do comes close to linching, cheap inflamatory snark devoid of nuance. I don't care if I agree with them in spirit, this is not something I'm interested in reading.
Not to mention the insufferable comment section. Now that I think of it, I fail to find a reason to keep visiting that website.

If you read again my top comment you'll see that I used the following expression: "What they do comes close to linching...". I did not state it was identical to being lynched, but I do think there are relevant, punctual, similarities. Enough for a weak comparison at least. We're in informal discussion territory, after all.You seem to have inflated the reach of my statement.
Well I didn't wanna say but since you mentioned my ancestors did went through that shit. I'm afro Brazilian and my ancestors were slaves coming from Nigeria. This is not my first language and I...

Scott Cawthon had recently been called out on social media and accused of homophobia and transphobia for his support of Donald Trump and for making donations towards Republican candidates and PACs in 2020.
After several days of outrage, this prompted Cawthon to make this post on the /r/fivenightsatfreddys subreddit. In his post he opened up about being doxxed and harassed as a result of his political affiliation, explained that his family had received death threats, and clarified that his support of specific Republican candidates wasn't out of animosity towards the LGBTQ community.
The day after, he announced his retirement from game development via his official website. Security Breach will still go on, and Cawthon's post suggests that he'll pass the series mantle to someone else.

It is a term used for comparison. I believe it was clear enough?
I'm not familiar with this situation you mention regarding vaccines.

I see. When in doubt, I suppose it is probably a good idea to assume the best from people.
