The virus, we believe, is politically motivated.

Damn, that's a smart fucking virus.

A Louisiana pastor is apparently defying the governor's order against gatherings of more than 50 people

It's even worse than that. While this pastor may be heroically defying the order of the demonic, pro-life Democrat governor Edwards, he is still committing the gravest sin of all in Louisiana: defying the almighty LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron himself.

There is truly no place in Ed's domain for this cretin.

Spell also told the outlet that police showed up at the church after the service Tuesday night and informed him the National Guard would break up any future gatherings that exceed 50 people.

That is exactly what the Nation Guard and police should be doing

But a National Guard spokesman in Baton Rouge told NBC News on Wednesday it is not involved in the matter and has no role in enforcing social distancing requirements as set by Gov. John Bel Edwards.

    But alas...

Pro tip: watch the video included in this article. It's gross. Admittedly, I am a very not religious person, so the scenes of the congregation crying and slobbering all over each other would strike me as gross and fucked up without a global pandemic going on, but considering the situation, this is really, really fucked up.

I would just grumble about something something natural selection something something, but these people aren't just going to infect each other. No, they're going to attend church, and then they are going to go home to five different parishes and kill people not affiliated with the church at all, probably people they love.

LOL I love the Orgeron thing. 100% accurate. But more importantly, you're absolutely right about the people attending -- I found out about this story from my mother-in-law, who just started at...

But more importantly, you're absolutely right about the people attending -- I found out about this story from my mother-in-law, who just started at Wal-Mart to make ends meet. She said, "Are these people going to come in my store?" which the answer is probably, yes, some of them.

EDIT OH and she's got health issues. So great.

This is not a unique instance, and it's not exclusively American religious fanatics at fault.
