    It's been a couple weeks since I posted. I'm really not feeling motivated lately. This week I've really had to force myself into the gym each day. I'm sure it's a confluence of external work stuff and being in my second peaking block in as many months. I haven't been as good about doing accessory work but I'm putting good effort into the primary lift and ticking off the accessories I can talk myself into.

    • Deadlift is actually doing pretty good. I think I can actually add some decent weight. I changed my grip from hook to alternating grip and it's been a great. I've been using hook grip since I started but when I pull around 230kg it stops feeling right. Last night 215 was pretty easy with alternating grip.
    • Bench is feeling okay. I still feel a little underpowered but we'll see how 140 moves today.
    • Squat is really taking its time coming back. Last week 190 was harder than I would want it to be but back off sets feels a bit easy. This is usually my cue to just load more weight and focus on executing. I'll load 200 this weekend. I'd like to add 2.5 to my third attempt and officially mark 500lb in a meet. It would've been there last month let's see if we get there.

    And I've had this extensor tendonitis in my foot for about a month now. I started feeling it end of February. It isn't bad in that I don't feel it unless I point my toes and pronate my left foot. But it is concerning. I probably just need to be better at stretching because I haven't done anything that is normally a trigger for this.

    Anyway, we keep at it. The season will change. After this meet I'm going to try combining some days so I have 4 days a week in the gym rather than 6. Partly because it's light out later and because my partner and I will want to do more events after work during the summer.
