Now that the weather is nice I started trail running again but then for some reason almost immediately I lost the motivation and I’m so upset with myself. I signed up for a race later this summer to try to help motivate me but I’m still being lazy and can’t get off my ass. I keep telling myself ‘I’ll run tomorrow’ but then I just don’t 😭. I was having so much fun after I picked it up last summer, but the winter and snow was brutal enough to set me back and I’m having a tough time getting back into it.

I'm stepping away from weight training and stepping into bodyweight exercise. My finances and time commitments make getting to the gym unfeasible so this felt like the right decision. The first week was a humbling experience. 5 rounds of 20 squats, 20 pushups, 20 lunges, max pullups, and a one minute plank is taxing but I'm starting to feel the value over the fatigue. I'm eating fruit and yogurt with protein powder as a late breakfast, chicken rice and veggies for lunch and shrimp rice and veggies for dinner. The goal is to cut to a comfortable running weight by the time the weather gets warm again around October so I can get back into sprints.
