Great post, the powerlifting competitions I have been to have had a real variety of people, and everyone was welcome. I think the shared struggle of lifting heavy things definitely brings people together. Like anything else there is going to be a vocal minority of people who are not tolerant, but overall powerlifting has been one of the most genuinely inclusive things I've been a part of.
