Education ALWAYS benefits individuals and the community as a whole. Lack of education is a control mechanism to keep people making choices which can keep them in the same place rather than bettering themselves.

In this case, not understanding the human body can lead you to death, disease, and/or a life sentence of caring for another human being(s) that you werent ready for.

Bravo Netherlands (and any country which has rampant and free sex education).
Here in 'murrica, its a coin flip.
If a big city (or progressively lead one) you stand the chance of getting a half way decent sex education right around the time you enter the period where you need it.
If you live in a rural area, well...you are probably still living under the puritan rules of your body is a SHAMEFUL thing and shouldnt be looked at, or discussed, and sex is ONLY for baby making in the dark with closed eyes after marriage.

Hmmmmm. I don't enough about a lot of things to make a judgement one way or the other on this article. I do feel there must be some sort of middle ground between "sex is evil and you're evil for having sexual thoughts" and explaining it in graphic detail to toddlers. Perhaps that's just my cultural upbringing talking, but I still think it's worth exploring.

My sister is a nurse and was married to a doctor. My nieces, not long after they could make full sentences, knew what body parts were what on each sex.
I was watching , the older of the two was playing in her driveway, when a lady drove by and said "that little boy is adorable! is he yours?" to which my niece yelled "Im a girl! I have a vagina!" The lady got red faced and flustered and drove off.
One persons graphic detail is another persons embarrassing thing they dont ever want to hear or mention.
