It's totally a profit over quality problem. Why take time and make something that will last when you can put up two cheaper versions in the same time frame for the same price. The upkeep on the two cheaper units will absolutely destroy your bottom line, but that's a problem for which ever sucker buys them from you.

I'm going full on peaceful socialist star trek future here.

    WORK
A four day 6 hour work week under a UBI system or a non-monetary system.
Id love to do manual labor but my body doesn't like it any more so I guess I could keep doing IT support.
One volunteer day doing some type of community (re)building would probably get my manual labor fix in.

    HOME
A well built (sound insulated) 1 bedroom with an office/den area apartment for me and the cats in a major city so I could take public transportation and have lots of diversity around me.

    RECREATION
Digital recreation would include some light computer gaming along with finishing my book series.
Outside would be hiking every other weekend, maybe even some camping here and there.

    Ahhh to dream.

Grawlix put it better but it bears repeating.

Compromise only works when the other party is willing.

Republicans in office have shown for what, 11? years now that they have absolutely no interest in meeting in the middle. If it's not what they want, they wont even show up to the table.

So at this point cooperation is out the door.

So I alternate between an old Jansport laptop book bag I got back in... 2004 and a much newer Vanquest Envoy 3 messenger bag. Choice of which one to use depends on what im carrying. If its going to be a hands on day and I need organization its the messenger bag. If its a boring office day I use the Jansport.

I also have a smaller Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack for smaller day trips.

This has been a hot topic between my wife and I. I think we've come to the conclusion that it's a romance/drama/comedy with some sci-fi and supernatural elements.
My shitty elevator pitch is "It's a soap opera that takes itself seriously." lol

    "Any tips..."

When it comes, it'll come. Aside from writing things for school or work this is my first extra curricular writing project. I have no idea what's made me so go hard on it.

I know I made a go a NaNoWriMo last year with a zombies on mars story. Each day I was putting my words in, I couldn't get the nagging feeling out of my head that I wasn't working on my main story.

Maybe give NaNoWriMo a shot and see how you like it? If not, when your mind is ready to spit it out, it will let you know.

Whats your genres? I ask because Im a big fantasy and scifi fan and NEVER thought Id be writing a love story.

Pushing the 29th chapter of this damn book out of my head and onto (digital) paper while finishing 30 & 31 and plotting out the second books chapter content.

At work I'm trying to rob peter to pay paul with equipment as I have two new people starting monday but I wont be here so everything needs to be done by thursday.

Fri through Mon I'll be in upstate NY knocking out another fire tower hike and catching up on sleep while my wife rocks her side hustle selling clothes.

Aside from the length of time, I do enjoy it as it gives me time to write as I'm going to and from work. I couldn't do that in a car sitting in traffic.
