This article specifically deals with the psychological effects incurred by China placing Uighurs in reeducation camps in order to rid them of "religious extremism and violent terrorist ideology."
I am glad to see an uptick in reporting on the Uighur crisis. The fact that one of the richest and most powerful nations commits human rights abuses daily does not make them any less egregious. I hope increased awareness pushes other nations to do something about it.

Not necessarily a fan of the USA's actions all the time, nor am I in any way pleased with our current president; I'd consider myself center-right.

This probably made my results less accurate than they should have been. Anyone else experience this?
I took the long version.
EXTRAVERSION 62

Your score on Extraversion is average, indicating you are neither a subdued loner nor a jovial chatterbox. You enjoy time with others but also time alone.AGREEABLENESS 83
Trust 78

Intellect 29
Liberalism 11
Your score on Openness to Experience is average, indicating you enjoy tradition but are willing to try new things. Your thinking is neither simple nor complex. To others you appear to be a well-educated person but not an intellectual. Some thoughts:
- I come to the opposite conclusion of the test regarding my appearance to others as an intellectual. Many people tell me I seem like an intellectual, when I don't really feel that well-educated at all.
- I also don't know why I scored so low on imagination. I answered consistently that I have a vivid imagination, but only got a 38.
- I must have made a mistake in the conscientiousness section. I thought I answered all of the questions to show that I leave my room messy, am disorganized, and rarely plan ahead. I'm usually on time, but the rest of the blurb doesn't really make sense.
Fun test!

I'd wager a rather large number of people are interested in products that may improve their lives. Maybe they're not interested in the new McWhatever, but that doesn't mean we should completely eliminate advertising. You saying "nobody cares" without any basis doesn't really do anything for the conversation we should be having.

I saw you're looking for podcast recs. Unresovled is a great one. I also like Lore and Philosophize This.
Also, be sure to talk to each other if something is bothering you. I know quite a few people who have broken up because of something that happened during a road trip, and it almost always stems from a lack of communication during the trip. Just some advice :)

It's not really about connecting with people as it is getting updates and being snarky. Lots of people don't care about the former, and can get the latter elsewhere.

Instagram seems to be the big thing right now, so it probably makes sense to build more robust social features into it.
Hmmmmm. I don't enough about a lot of things to make a judgement one way or the other on this article. I do feel there must be some sort of middle ground between "sex is evil and you're evil for having sexual thoughts" and explaining it in graphic detail to toddlers. Perhaps that's just my cultural upbringing talking, but I still think it's worth exploring.
