Thank you for posting this. I have a sleep study scheduled a few weeks from now and am a likely candidate for a CPAP. I had no idea they were remotely trackable--who expects a breathing device to come with its own modem?! Hopefully this (and the cost) aren't an issue for me, but the American healthcare system hasn't instilled me with a lot of faith.

Insurance drives the treatment plans. Doctors have very little say in you are treated, unless you want to pay out of pocket.
