Anyway, the last gasp of humidity and heat seemed to finally end with the beginning of September. My running mileage dropped way off the last month and a half or so but last week and this one the weather have been beautiful and slowly my mileage is creeping back up. Hoping I can get back in the swing of thing and back on track for my mileage goal of the year.

After a lot of research and deliberation, I ordered an indoor bike and cadence sensor. Couldn't justify the cost of a Peloton (and the subscription cost is higher if you have one of their bikes), but I'll still be able to join the past and live classes with their digital app. Not only that, but I ordered a new S6 Apple Watch, which comes with six months of Fitness+. We'll see which service I like better. I absolutely hate working out outside once it dips below 60F, and it's just about that time here.

Today marks three straight weeks of lifting 2x a week, which seems to be my sweet spot. I've done 3x a week in the past, but it completely drained me.

I'm still playing Ring Fit Adventure a few times a week, but it's taken a bit of a backseat with other fitness stuff I've been doing, including going on almost daily walks at lunchtime now that it's not blistering hot out.

Now 4,500 swings into the 10,000 Kettlebell Swing Challenge. On a whim, I decided to re-read the article on Wednesday and I'm glad I did. Turns out I had been taking about 1/5 of the prescribed rest time! No wonder if felt like absolute hell! I found myself sometimes unable to do the challenge as I thought it was and would sneak in breaks here and there just to get my heart down below 160.

Did my first go through of a day as designed. Took about 10 minutes longer than normal, but man that felt way better. And more like a strength workout rather than a cardio one. When I get tired, I tend to let gravity do a lot of work in bringing the bell back down to the starting position. With actual rest built in, I usually have the stamina to actually pull it down and back, which gives it way more work shoulders and biceps.

Glad I only did that to myself for a third of the challenge or so!
