Any skydivers here?

I love to skydive even though I'm relatively new. It's given me lots of motivation to lose weight and the community so far is great! As a trans woman in the US South who jumps in the South, I've found them to be incredibly accepting and welcoming, and there's nowhere I'd rather be than hanging out at the drop zone on a pretty day!

Anyone else like to skydive?

I went once about 10 years ago. I paid extra to do the solo first jump (you have two guides that holding onto you until you pull your chute). I enjoyed it, but can't quite justify the cost of going again. Also, my wife doesn't like the idea of it because of the risk. When my boys are old enough to go I will 100% go with them if they want to try it.

Not yet, but is on my bucket list! Just hope it's not the thing that puts me in the bucket. Should hopefully be jumping out of a perfectly good airplane sometime next fall.

I went once shortly after high school and had an amazing time. I'm not an adrenaline junky by any means, but it was a feeling unlike any other, and I'd love to revisit it one day.

I went on a whim last year in the summertime. Since I was working on my pilots license during that time, I wanted to see what the experience was like and see what the plane was doing since I often had to avoid it near my local airport. I wasn't scared at all and when it came to jump, I just did it.

Unfortunately half-way down it felt like my sinuses were going to explode. Sudden pressure and pain in my ears and forehead made it hard to focus and enjoy the moment. It took several days before my ears were back to normal.

You are right about the drop zone being a very friendly and zen like place.

I was a weird little kid, and I never felt happier nor more welcome.
