I thought I knew more or less what the British empire did to the Indian subcontinent but watching this video blew my mind. It really is a shame that this isn't taught more in British/all schools, not only for the reasons of educating the crimes of the British and all Imperial empires, but it is also a great real life example of different kinds of warfare, including economic warfare, with lasting effects that still haven't been reversed.

India is kind of glossed over... Simply because British history is so damn vast. Everything from Rome to now, it's just hard to pick a point. Plus, a lot us know the Empire did awful things, everytime these topics come up you hear "They should teach kids this more!" which is exhausting given just how much bullshit every European nation has done over the past 500 years.

So how do we teach without foisting huge sums of guilt into generations who may or may not have had anything to do with these topics?
