A female historian wrote a book. Two male historians went on NPR to talk about it. They never mentioned her name. It’s Sarah Milov.

And they didn't bother to actually have her on the show, despite it being entirely about her book.

Shitty thing to do, but at least as of right now, they've followed through on their promise to credit her on the online page for the segment, which now reads:

Sarah Milov, assistant professor of history at the University of Virginia and author of the forthcoming book, “The Cigarette: A Political History,” provided extensive research material for historians Ed Ayers and Nathan Connolly.

Ironically, this slip-up has generated a lot of publicity for Milov's book. Unfortunately, it's not out until October. I'd like to read it, and if I were her publisher I'd jump on this opportunity and fast-track the publishing process. According to Amazon, it's a "#1 Best Seller in Agriculture Industry", but as a member of the general public, I can't buy and read it until I've probably forgotten all about it.
