I read this article a while ago. Probably around January 2020. It was one of the many retrospective articles I read about the 2010s that came out at the time. It stood out from the rest. I liked The Outline a lot, and I was very saddened when it was shut down. It was essentially like Gawker except with a lower profile, and not even the new Gawker matches up with the writing that was found here.
Anyways, I'm reminded of this article every time I see people complaining that Martin Scorsese doesn't think superhero movies are cinema.
