Much to my disappointment but not to my surprise...

This could be the motto for our entire era. And it's weird to consider. Not that it exists, but that we tolerate it so well. Reflecting on the years since Bush was elected, when I started paying attention to politics, that's been my gut feeling about the world: disappointing and unsurprising.

That means that we expect terrible things to happen then they just sort of do. No one tries to stop them or speak out in a real way. We all just vent to the internet and move on with our busy lives while we inch closer and closer to fascism. What a world indeed,

Kind of like how people think Buffalo wings come from literal buffalos, some people think that the 1930s/40s national socialist party in Germany didn't purge the socialists in an event called the night of the long knives. As a result, some historically illiterate people will erroneously use the National Socialist party as their root definition of socialism.

PragerUrine, the facist propaganda YouTube channel, is going beyond that simple misconception and is trying to convince people that Democratic Socialism (Bernie Sanders, universal healthcare, etc.) is similar to Nazi Germany. Three Arrows made a video showing how every claim is a lie that misrepresents history.

Why? If you want to know what the video is about, watch it for yourself, rather than having its content filtered through the OP's perceptions and opinions.

Hey OP, do you mind adding some explanation of the argument made here or detail why this video was interesting to you?

It would help the discussion even more if you watched the video for yourself, so you could actually discuss it.

If you don't want to invest 40 minutes without information, then watch the first 5 minutes to see if it interests you. Let the video maker themself entice you to watch their video, by watching their introduction.

Not everything comes with a handy trailer or blurb. Sometimes you just have to take a risk.

"Was Hitler a Socialist? ... Although this is probably my most requested video, I didn't want to do it for quite some time, partially because it's a position only fringe demagogues would espouse, but to my disappointment (but not surprise) it seems to have become a more mainstream opinion in American conservatism."

I get where you're coming from... but this video has a 144p option with closed captioning available. So that's not really a great excuse for making a comment before even trying to actually watch...

But 144p doesn't fix this. It's still streaming a video. A lot of YouTube videos end up being 3 sentences of information dragged out over 10-30 minutes wrapped in patreon begging. A lot of us commute in subways with spotty coverage (actual deadzones) and don't have infinite battery.

Most news website articles are as large or even sometimes larger than a 144p video nowadays, so if this were an article would the same excuse apply and the same first comment be seen as acceptable?

And a lot of them aren't. The ones being submitted to ~humanities (and Tildes in general) have overall been pretty solid, IMO.

Well, those people won't be watching the video anyway, so it doesn't matter whether the OP does what @dubteedub is requesting, and provide a summary.
