There's a conspiracy theory going around Australia at the moment that the news was sent/leaked early to our (unelected, got in by the quirks of the Westminster system) leader, who has tied it in with the national day (Australia Day) and European settlement, which is setting up to be our own little Confederate Flag issue between the social left and right wing (likely to distract from the real issues between the economic left and right wing).

The timing of things he's been saying the last week or 2 combined with the rather interesting coincidence of announcing the find literally 2 days before Australia Day.
