I feel this blog post is unnecessarily verbose. But besides that, I agree with the sentiment. If you study something you do not understand you can probably still recall what was difficult about it afterwards. This gives you a more varied opinion, that of the novice and the scholar. When presenting the ideas you'll know what hurdles an uneducated reader will need to jump over.
