How do you find new LGBT groups?

So I'm moving soon and I was just curious about how those of you who move around a bit go about finding new people to hang out with. I usually just try to find the nearest gay bar and go from there. But I'm curious what all you people do.

My advice is to focus less on the LGBT aspect and instead seek people who want to share the activities you enjoy. For me this is going on hikes and going camping, playing video games or tabletop...

As a gay man I’ve never formed meaningful relationships, friendship or otherwise, by seeking out other gay men explicitly. I need more than that to form a connection, and while I find value in spending time with other people who identify as LGBT, I would rather meet them through shared interests.

That's a good idea. It's always so awkward going to a bar/club alone.

I don't have any queer friends IRL to hang out with, so it's all online for me. The usual vectors are meeting folks in whatever discords we happen to share, sometimes they introduce me to groups...

The usual vectors are meeting folks in whatever discords we happen to share, sometimes they introduce me to groups with large presence of queer folks and sometimes I introduce them. Some are gaming discords, some are furry discords, some are just hobbled together friend groups, etc.
