i'm glad to see that there is a study about this, but also, why in the name of god is there/does there need to be a study about this? does this not go without saying? are we genuinely in such a state that we need the great academics of the world to reaffirm that yes, homosexual people and trans people and other gender and sexual minorities are people that can and do exist everywhere in the world and therefore can also exist in rural areas and not just decadent cosmopolitan america? like, the fact that we have to waste time, academic space, and probably money to just confirm that this is a thing that actually happens to what is apparently most of the american population when common sense could also probably tell you this is intensely aggravating.
