Thank you for posting this, I'd never seen this channel before but it was a great video. The state of trans rights in the UK is shameful and only getting worse. I had no idea about section 28 until this so I guess that shows how ignorant I am about the topic, but it's been clear to me for a while that the struggle trans people are going through today is near identical to the gay right struggles of previous decades. I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet, but things can't keep getting worse forever...

Little off-topic, but I really love that "Trans Liberation Now" is really getting momentum (again)

Section 28 was a law that lasted from 1988 to 2003. It banned any "promotion" of homosexuality in state-funded schools. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_28

Haven't watched the video yet (put it on my to-do), is that it's not just that a lot of transphobia is recycled homophobia, but also that a lot of transphobes are just homophobic too. They tend to be less brazen about it, presumably because of how it is a lot less acceptable these days, but it creeps out sometimes. The homophobia will even rear its head at the same time as they talk about how they want to protect lesbians from the trans menace of whatever. Their often-espoused support for gay people is a token effort to look better.
