Trans healthcare in England, and for children for Ireland, has two phases. There's an initial psychiatric and psychological bit, and that was provided by Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. Then there's an endocrinology bit, and that's provided by a few different hospitals.

Irish children were being seen by Tavi, and then sent back to a hospital in Ireland for meds.

The second claimant, who was not identified, was the mother of a 15-year-old girl with autism who was concerned that her daughter might be referred to Tavistock and given puberty blockers.

One of the infuriating things about this case is that this child would not have been given puberty blockers. Tavi required consent from the child, the parents, the tavi team, and the endo team. So if the mother withheld consent blockers were not able to be prescribed.

I've tagged this uplifting because Ireland are in the process of developing their own system.

(This involves Ireland and the UK. As such, it's delicate and I may get things wrong and I welcome any corrections. I love and respect my Irish neighbours and I'm well aware that English people getting it wrong can be fucking annoying.)
