A little victory for my increasingly less little boy this weekend. He's 7 months old now so going through a phase of periodically leaving his brain behind and forgetting/ trying to ignore commands.
We went to a local dog meetup yesterday and had a walk around a new park; it's a nice big one with lots of trails and brilliant open spaces for him to bomb about in so we will definitely go back. He had fun playing with a little terrier and then walked fairly calmly alongside the other dogs and people and even voluntarily rubbed up against someone! Feels like a huge step in the right direction for his fear of people considering these were complete strangers to him.
He was absolutely shattered and quite happy to laze around and sleep for the rest of the day afterwards so it made a nice, easy Sunday for us too.
