Thank you. You helped me to plan for the best possible goodbye for my dog. It was today.

I am very thankful for your help. It cleared our minds and we could do it in a peaceful way.
His euthanasia was painful for us but not for him.
The vet was awesome and we did it maybe a week after the ideal time. We are sad, very sad, despite our brains saying that it was the best decision we are sad sad sad.
Grief evolves and we kind of know it will get better.
You were a great community, supportive and wise.
Thanks again,

My heart is with you ♥️ Putting my cats down is the saddest toughest thing I've ever done but it's important to do right by our little furry friends. Be kind to yourself.

We are there for them their whole lives. They (usually) never have to face losing us. We have the pain instead of them and that is a gift to our furry family members.

It's incredibly tough and I'm sorry you had to go through it. You did what was best for him, and while nothing would make the grief go away immediately I think being able to say a proper goodbye...

I distinctly remember your original post. I'm so happy you got a bit more good time with your dog and that when the time was right you felt empowered to make the decision. I know that the decision isn't easy and that grief is incredibly complex, but I hope it does get better.
And in fair warning, every time someone else goes looking for help, you will be able to help them but you probably won't be able to hold back a few tears. Many years after putting down our dog, I still tear up thinking about it.
