I didn’t see any other pictures besides the cover photo for it but still a great story nonetheless. I love senior cats so much. I adopted two senior cats a few years ago, they were bonded brothers...

I adopted two senior cats a few years ago, they were bonded brothers from the same litter. I too thought I was doing a service, giving two old guys a home in their sunset years and wanted to do it for all the older cats I came across once my boys crossed over the rainbow bridge. They were my first cats that were mine to take care of, so naturally I got attached. We had them for two almost three years before they passed and it broke my heart. I couldn't bear to adopt senior cats again so soon and go through the attachment and heartbreak so quickly again.
Aside from the heartbreak, it's also a massive medical commitment. They both had chronic kidney disease, as most older cats do I believe. I couldn't afford or bear to take my boys to the vet each week for fluids and meds at a certain point. It's such a tough decision and I hate money being such a deciding factor. So something to keep in mind for others interested in adopting seniors. It's worth it though. Some day I will again when I'm ready. This woman deserves a medal, I know it's not easy.
