Research tests efficacy of guard dogs against grizzly bears

    They better be effective, My wife walks through a forest every day and we have seen black bears up close, and once in a blue moon there have been grizzlies spotted nearby. Her protection is bear...

    They better be effective, My wife walks through a forest every day and we have seen black bears up close, and once in a blue moon there have been grizzlies spotted nearby. Her protection is bear spray, a loud podcast, and two goofy dogs that we HOPE would be able to either distract a bear or keep it a bay while she backs her way home. They DO keep the black bears off our yard by barking but that doesnt apply to the elk. The elk just ignore them and barely look their way.

      I think the deterrence numbers from the study are great news.
