Any dog owners here with experience with dealing with seemingly irrational fears?
My dog has always been very stubborn and is very opinionated about what kind of walks we do. We live in a town and she has been developing a fear for bridges and walking along the water. But here’s the interesting part: with the water or her left she’s fine, with the water on her right she’s super stressed and will just freeze. I’m pretty sure her sight is fine on both sides.
On bridges it’s another thing. Where there is slack in the line she’s fine. If I tug on it, even just a little bit, she lies down and refuses to move.
She’s totally ok with water. When it’s a river with sloped banks, she’ll walk in. Anybody have an idea what might be going on? And maybe more important: what can I do to help her with these fears?
