Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. It's a conflict I know very little about and the article gives some real insight into what people in the area are going through. I think it's great that they've allowed space for those affected to tell their stories in their own words. So often individuals' voices are subsumed into a larger article and sidelined by an editorial voice which is trying to tell a particular story. I was especially moved by Rosette Riziki Rutare talking about the importance of her sewing machine:
My husband took this sewing machine with him but we forgot the pedal in the rush. The next day, when we returned to pick it up, there was shooting everywhere. We almost died that day. I wanted to come with this machine so as not to start begging.
