Holy shit! I recognize one of those names, Emil Kirkegaard. I remember having some discussions with him many years ago on his blog about philosophy, and even exchanged a couple of emails about linguistics. He struck me as an intellectually curious young man, not an extremist. Now apparently he's turned into every kind of bigot under the sun including white supremacist, eugenicist, sexist, homophobe, advocate for legalizing child pornography... Makes me feel icky to think I've ever associated with such an individual, even if it was only a couple of online discussions.

I guess it goes to show you can't really predict how people will turn out. I feel like I was in a pretty similar place in life at the time but my life and my opinions turned out diametrically opposite.
