I wish stories like this made it into U.S./EU media more often - it's incredibly valuable context to explain why immigration is happening and the extent to which economic policy and resulting environmental degradation are contributing to "the problem".
These people didn't get up and decide one day that they were going to leave homes and families just because there's money to be had. Their migration was an act of desperation and despair arising from the fact that their traditional livelihoods had become impossible. They are "economic" refugees only after the developed world and climate changes starved them.
This is one one of the best examples I've seen of photojournalism and documentation of people's lives I've seen recently.
