Ever since I did a video on Germany and its procurement and modernisation woes back in 2022, I've felt it would only be fair if some of NATO's other notable performers in that field got some attention.
Today we're going to have a look at Canada's defence strategy, its strategic geography and its long record of procurement and budgetary adventures.
So take a seat, ready yourselves, and let's see if Germany is about to find a worthy challenger. This is meant to be entertainment, try not to cry.
Note that there is at least one audio flub this episode - I refer to the UK Type 26 in passing as being a proven design (meaning from a sales perspective) not from a combat perspective (given they aren't in service yet).

Cool - can't wait to watch this. From what I know, our strategy was great in the 1970s and so was our present equipment. We have army, baby and air force capabilities that allow for a little of everything but never pick a lane meaning that we're incapable of most things on a serious scale.
That, and we do our best to source equipment domestically but the monopoly forces that be in this country can't keep to a timeline or budget well enough to be worth working with
What I got from the video was that you're still using the gear that was great in the 70s but that's quite a while ago now. Edit: I wasn't fully awake when I read the above and now realise I was...

I don't know if that was a typo or a dig at that branch of the military but I laughed so thanks for that haha
Hah, the best typo I guess
What I got from the video was that you're still using the gear that was great in the 70s but that's quite a while ago now.
Edit: I wasn't fully awake when I read the above and now realise I was just restating it
I think u/kingofsnake was implying the same thing, just subtly and sardonically.
I wasn't fully finished mashing out a low effort post on the toilet when I typed "Army, Baby, Air Force" but here we are ;). Touche, friend. Touche.
