Posting this article and then linking to that toxic masculinity thread, as you did, seems like an underhanded way of making a point. It seems like you're trying to expose a double-standard in the reaction to this article and the reaction to that other article. Was that your goal?

I have no doubt that fake tears do happen and are used by manipulative people. But I think it's a gross overgeneralization to try to claim that a large class of people cry strategically as a regular occurrence.

This can be difficult if you suffer from an excess of empathy, but it is necessary. Assholes won't learn if they don't get their noses rubbed in their failures.

I disagree. There is a large class of people who use tears for strategic purposes. They're called assholes.
