Leon It's interesting you mention that. It's genuinely a beautiful story but I always assumed it was quite well known. I would second the recommendation. It's interesting you mention that. Leon I can understand that.I'm not sure I can fully agree with this, for one because in my experience people like the author, that is to say trans women, do have enemies who do want to see trans people ejected from the FOSS community for a variety of reasons.
I can understand that.

I can’t wait for the mass exodus from Linux now that it’s been infiltrated by SJWs. Hahahah

I can't help but feel that her motives are more geared towards "winning" against a perceived enemy rather than trying to improve things for all. In fact, the tone really does suggest "smug asshat"

Given a choice between only two extremes, I'd far rather have Linus Torvalds telling me
I'm an idiot and my code is shit, than exist in an offence-taking culture where various
forms of criticism are re-branded as "harassment." -

Twitter is used more frequently to contact people not directly known for more "online" conversations. It would be more usual to add someone on Twitter that you'd never met, celebrities, politicians, journalists, random people that look like they have a similar interest and so on, perhaps using an online handle rather than your real name.
This by definition includes more tech type people as they are more so the type of person to maintain primarily online relationships. But it also includes heavier internet users who aren't necessarily interested in tech. I wouldn't say it splits between blue and white collar workers necessarily.
All of that being said, the pattern I've described has become less true over the past couple of years.

I kid, of course. I'm interested in the difference between reading on a Kindle compared to a paperback. I'd always assumed it was the proliferation of very small texts combined with awkward scrolled reading that caused comprehension issues.
I tend to send any long-form material to my kindle via the document service or Instapaper and read them in batches which has always felt much more "book like". Perhaps that isn't the advantage I'd envisioned.
I vape myself (to quit smoking) and I find it an effective tool, the NHS says it's safer, but my own experience says the ability to reduce the nicotine strength as you wish is a very effective method of tapering.
All of that being said, disposable (1 or 2 day use?) lithium batteries are a blight, just make them refillable and put a charging port on it. Obviously they won't sell as many which I assume is the reason those features were removed to begin with.
