The Democrats do terribly in state elections and it really matters

    Unfortunately the video is from 2016, but according to this Wikipedia article there is some optimism but not much in the way of a serious majority.

    During Obama's presidency, the Democratic Party lost a large number of races across the country. Their share of seats in the United States Senate fell from 59 to 48. They lost 62 House seats, 12 governorships, and 958 seats in state legislatures.

    Unfortunately the video is from 2016, but according to this Wikipedia article there is some optimism but not much in the way of a serious majority.

        This post is about state races (although the quote I took is about federal-level stuff and state races, in which case I'll yield), not really about federal races because we may be too concerned...

        This post is about state races (although the quote I took is about federal-level stuff and state races, in which case I'll yield), not really about federal races because we may be too concerned about those races to the detriment of local races, which Republicans then dominate, which becomes surprisingly consequential.
