Here's three somewhat related movies:
KAMIKAZE GIRLS (2004) — Directed by Tetsuya Nakashima (who also made the darker but equally hypersaturated MEMORIES OF MATSUKO) this fractured trainwreck of a buddy movie follows the explosive friendship between two radically different rebels: a Yankii girl, and a girl utterly devoted to 1800th century France and Lolita fashion.

WILD ZERO (1999) — this is not a good movie. The pacing is uneven, the subplots are half-baked, and the final music-related showdown with the alien space ship is just not executed all that well. But even with that, it's a movie you want to be good; you want to like it so much you're able to play a bit of pretend.
Rock'n roll is masculine; standing in front of a mirror trying to get his rock'n roll hairdo just right—no so much! But the wannabee Ace, a devoted fan of the garage rock band Guitar Wolf, try his hardest. This is juxtaposed with the female lead, who is trans, stoically moving forward after having her gender identity harshly invalidated. They meet at a tank station, and a fumbling romance blossoms. Then the aliens arrives, and people start turning into zombies.

√964 PINOCCHIO (1991) — No identifyable plot, harsh, unpleasant editing and loads of body horror. Pure sensory violation. This is Japanese Cyberpunk at its finest. Also featuring a 3 minute puking scene!
