I'm a DOR fan, I think he's one of the best American auteurs from the past twenty years. Silver Linings Playbook is one of my favorite movies, and I love The Fighter and American Hustle. I even really like Joy, which was not critically acclaimed, and consider Amsterdam to be one of the best of 2022 despite it's critical lambasting.
Obviously he has a lot of accusations, and I'm actually bound to believe them considering he's a confirmed terrible person, but I'm excited for this, if he stays on the project that is (he was also attached to direct Being the Ricardo's).
The thing that gives me pause is Gomez's casting. I like her, but I don't consider her a good actress. So she's gonna have to train, properly, for this role.
