You might think it's weird to use an audio medium to learn about film but it's the people who make up the show that make it really worth it. Filmically Perfect features a film archivist, a story board artist who works with the Coen brothers, and a local radio show host. They pick a movie for each episode, often a classic, and go deep on it with the archivist providing a lot of the history, the story board artist supplying insight from the industry, and the radio host asking all the questions (playing the everywoman). It's a blast!
I particularly like the episodes on these movies:
Rabbit of Seville (1950) & What’s Opera, Doc? (1957)
