The reboot Trek Movies are nothing more than generic action flicks with a thin veneer of Trek names/looks. Yes, I know that before the reboot movies, the other movies had action in them. But the action sequences were not the absolute focus. The action was there to serve the plot, not the other way around.

If they want to do an action movie, don't drag Trek into it just for the name recognition.

If they want to do an actual Trek movie, come up with something that does the Trek name real justice! Go back and watch The Original Series (since that's where they pulled the characters from), or the Next Generation, or Deep Space Nine, etc. Those shows, for the most part, addressed social issues of the time, in a Trek way. Terrorism. Homelessness. LGBT conversion therapy. The right of an individual to control their own destiny. Etc..
