Ever since Saskatchewan's film tax credit was rescinded by the Saskatchewan Party-led government, Talking Dog, among other creative studios (film, music, theatre, etc.), have been tumbling down a very long and steep hill. As of this year, Talking Dog Studios of Regina, Saskatchewan, which opened in 1989, will be closing it's doors, after unsuccessful attempts at continuing despite the credit, as well as diversifying itself.
Let me know if this doesn't fit into the Tildes landscape, as it is a much more local news article rather than a nation-wide topic.
I think it fits. It may be "local" but it mirrors a situation playing out around the world with arts funding and lack of investment in cultural endeavours.
It's so unfortunate :( If it's not something that's going to bring in big money, no one cares... At least it's how it seems.
It's fine. Tildes will (and should!) include all news: global, national, regional, and local.
