Kareem Abdul-Jabbar: Bruce Lee was my friend, and Quentin Tarantino's movie disrespects him

    Sure, the portrayal of Bruce Lee was more caricature-like than an accurate historic representation, and it was definitely not flattering, so I get why Kareem is disappointed having known the man....

    ... so given that, I think he made it abundantly clear to everyone that he had absolutely no intention of taking on any "responsibility to basic truth" in it. Nor should he have, IMO, since it's literally the main point of the movie to completely rewrite history (similar to what he did at the end of Inglorious Bastards), and this is even clearly reflected by the fairy tale evoking title of it; Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

    This also wasn't a Bruce Lee documentary or biopic, of which there are already several, and he was only a very minor character in this, so Kareem wishing that Tarantino showed Bruce's "struggle to be taken seriously in Hollywood" in it is pretty unrealistic, IMO.
