The only thing that gives me pause about the whole thing is that it's Todd Phillips-- while Hangover was alright, I've never loved any of his movies; I'm typically just "meh, that was OK." The cynic in me says they have trailers down to such a science these days that they can make anything look great.
I don't understand why this has to be connected to The Joker. From everything I've seen this could just be another "dude pushed to the edge" movie. A decent one, from the looks of it....

Also...middle-aged Joker encountering kid Bruce Wayne would mean that The Joker would be pretty old by the time Bruce Wayne assumes the role of Batman, which is kinda odd to me.
Ah, well, I'm sure shoe-horning comic-book characters into movies that could fly without them guarantees a certain amount of ticket sales.
I'm genuinely excited for this film but I do hope we get an easter egg or callback to a more traditional looking Joker, something that implies that Arthur Fleck either transforms into the Joker we...

It’s my very humble opinion that the role is sealed for a couple of generations and that this movie is going to disappoint.
Personally I think it looks absolutely amazing. DC does a lot wrong with the movies, but this looks exactly as dark as it should be.

That's not cynicism, it's realism. Still, I find myself wishing his last name was Dent. Or first name Bela.
