I don't think this is directly related. Certainly not one being a response to another.

I see it as more than a coincidence that Nintendo recently copyright struck nearly everything on the channel, pokemon included, after it being up for 11 years, immediately before releasing it...

    Wonderful!

D/P were the last games I ever really, truly got into before falling off the Pokémon wagon. It was the last time I had a friend group that was interested in Pokémon and wanted to play/trade, and the only game that I made a real effort to complete the Pokédex. Plus, with the GTS and Serebii.net, getting trades online was amazing. I would go to the local McDonald's just to use their wifi and do my trading. I spent well over 700 hours playing my copy of Pearl.

Ultimately, this burned me out. It taught the min/max grind wasn't something I wanted to do forever and without having the social aspect to keep me hanging on, I just couldn't get into these games anymore outside of a romhack here and there. I think this was the turning point for me where the internet made so much knowledge and information available, it killed off the novelty of discovering things and figuring it out on my own and between my friends.

But what a trip down Nostalgia Lane listening to this is!
