I caught a King Gizzard show over the weekend in Queens. Was better than I was expecting, hadn't listened to them in a long, long while, but my friend is a big fan. I dig their sound much more in a live setting than on Spotify et al. I did find it entertaining that show was well... very short. Like, an hour, hour and a half tops, without encore, but hey I'm willing to believe the blame for that lies with the neighborhood of Forest Hills :P.

On Saturday, I caught the Phil Lesh show, and boy... everything was right with the world. I can't believe he's still up there making music at such a high quality.

For some reason they reminded me of Fartbarf who I also found recently. Fartbarf is basically a synth rock band. Synths, drumset, and vocoder playing fairly conventional rock-style music. I don't know how else to describe it, and I know it's not the best pitch, but I think they sound great.
