    I've seen every live version of this ever attempted, and my god they nailed this thing to the wall. No one else has ever been this on point. Absolutely impeccable, I can barely tell it apart from...

    Edit: And I even have a new favorite announcer. This is going to be on repeat for a while. /swoon

    Edit2: Branson was right. It did need more vocals. Piltdown perfection.

    Edit3: Way to stick the landing, that was transcendence. A masterclass.

    No question this is the first and only live performance of Mike I've ever seen that did the music justice. Jazz can eat its heart out. :P

      There are another ten on this level in his discography, but I'm still reeling from how on point the live performance was. Mike's albums are about as close to impossible to pin down live as it gets, due to the complex timing and layering of so many instruments. I've never seen anyone pull it off until now.

          From Eden and Take 5 are both in 5/4 time signature. It feels asymmetrical because the beats are grouped 3 + 2 in every measure. Your brain usually expects to hear groups of 2, 3, or 4 repeating....

Your brain usually expects to hear groups of 2, 3, or 4 repeating. Alternating back and forth between 3 and 2 feels like walking with one leg shorter than the other.
