I was all ready to be angry, but this is impressive and disturbing, so I'm impressed and disturbed instead.

It may not be the case here, but some of these really well done AI singers I've seen are an actual person doing an impression of the target voice and then the AI just transposes it to be more perfect. Given the quality of this one I'd bet that's what it is. Unless I've just been missing out on some crazy voice synthesis improvements.

Description says "AI voice model trained by @therealmockingbird / singing by me" so I believe that's what they did.

Interesting! I did not know that was how a lot of them do it, but it makes a lot of sense with how well the words flow out. There is none of that 'pop' between words as the AI attempts to meld...

That was extremely impressive! If it didn’t say AI I would have believed it was real!

Anyone have any idea what voice cloning tech is being used to generate something like this? The quality has gotten insanely impressive since I last played around with it myself, especially...

I assume it's ElevenLabs. Apparently the YouTuber recorded the song in his own voice, doing his best Johnny Cash impression, then transformed it. Very impressive.

They produce some great mashups, but it's still far from the best thing, or even the best Barbie Girl thing I've seen from the mashup, MLG montage parody or soundclown community.

I remember once seeing a Barbie Girl soundclown track which was the Barbie Girl beat/background music, mashed up with a load of memes and meme-y songs, including PSY - Gangnam Style, Death Grips - Tachyon, Crank Dat Soulja Boy, Childish Gambino - Bonfire, and a load of others I either can't fully remember or can't really reiterate here.

Sadly it's been lost to time. I reached out to the guy who originally made it, he doesn't have it anymore.
