What have you been listening to this week? You don't need to do a 6000 word review if you don't want to, but please write something! If you've just picked up some music, please update on that as well, we'd love to see your hauls :)
Feel free to give recs or discuss anything about each others' listening habits.

Roger Waters' Dark Side of the Moon Redux.
I didn't like it the first time through. But it's quite enjoyable when you can appreciate it on its own.
Holy Fawn because I finally saw them headline this week
New Sufjan
New Mil-Spec
and will be moving on to L'Rain and boygenius in the next few hours.
Can it not be albums or music like usual?
I've discovered a whole channel on Youtube dedicated to 'vibes' from various movies. Dune, The Thing, Bladerunner.
It is weirdly helping my overall mood just having it on in the background. Granted I'm a broody, melancholic individual, so it gives off that "ahh yes, the backing track of my life" sound... and I am so here for it.
Little dragon has caught my ear ever since their tiny desk performance. I love tumbling dice.
I recently was introduced to Knower.
They most recent album Knower Forever is a bop!
Sometimes sweet, often irreverent, electro jazz funk.
Whole album slaps, no skips.
Their music videos show how they recorded the album, which I would describe as a cramped awkward mess that looks like a hell of a blast.
Notable tracks are I'm The President, The Abyss, Do Hot Girls Like Chords, and Crash The Car.
Ravel - Introduction et allegro pour harpe, flûte, clarinette et quatuor à cordes (1905)
Bonus piece if you've never heard of this guy before
I was really into a one man instrumental metal project called Cloudkicker like 11 or 12 years ago, specifically the song Dysphoria which has a great riff. Hadn't listened to any of his stuff since and the Spotify algorithm suddenly reminded me he existed and was still putting out music by recommending his 2020 album Solitude.
Highlight so far is definitely "What They Do Is Not Art", amazing heavy riffs, really cool dynamics throughout, and mind bending rhythms and time signatures.
I've had the new chemical brothers album, "For That Beautiful Feeling" on repeat. It's so good, takes me back to that era of 90s big beat, breaks and house sound. It's really awesome, like those guys just came back and dropped an album that continues their project and is very satisfying!
Fleetwood Mac's 1972 post-psychedelic album Bare Trees

Fleetwood Mac made numerous albums before the megahit Rumours, this one is their sixth. I can hear bits of the kind of music that bands like Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, or the Beach Boys were playing at the time. I like it.
Picked up the following:
Dethklok - "Dethalbum IV". Been waiting for this one for a while.
dredg - "Leitmotif". I enjoyed Catch Without Arms and have read many good things about this album.
Neurosis - "Times of Grace". A little while back I found a burned copy of Souls at Zero that I had pulled from Napster in the long long ago, which reminded me about this band because I had forgotten completely about them. Found this one cheap at a used CD store and figured I might as well check it out.
Phobocosm - "Bringer of Drought". Random grab from a used CD store, simply based on them being signed to Dark Descent records. Not sure if I'll hold onto it, because it's a slower and more dissonant form of death than what I typically enjoy.
Jethro Tull - Live at Tampa Stadium 1976
I've been a fan for decades but in case anyone is unfamiliar, the use of the flute is noteworthy and special.
Ren - Sickboi, released this week. Genre bending artist, a storyteller. The story behind the man is worth knowing about before you listen.
Conquer Divide - Slow Burn. Heavy hitting all female metal group. Two singers giving a mixture of clean and unclean vocals.
I've been stuck on a band called Celebration lately. If you like Siouxsie and the Banshees, PJ Harvey, or Cocteau Twins; you'll adore this band immensely. All five albums are great with a high density of stand out songs.
Japanese Cafe BGM is extremely relaxing and chill. Typically with a bossa nova feel that never begs for your attention, but gives a nice cozy atmosphere to whatever you're doing
This lo-fi dreamy track I found on ?
This track by Bewwip which is insanely good idm/acid/303
