I've been a fan of this group for a while. The husband and wife have a great energy, but I really love their energy as a group and in this and other videos you can really see how well they all work together on composing a mashup and absolutely kill it. Jamming like this melts my brain. Love it.
I also really like what they're doing for the music scene and their attitude towards supporting their fellow musicians and vocalists in an equitable way.
P.S. You now like slide guitar solos.
I recently learned a strange fact: the husband is one of the co-founders of Patreon.
Wow, I didn't know that. That's crazy and interesting!
I love Pomplamoose, and Scary Pockets!
Also, something you might not be aware of. Nataly Dawn's husband, Jack Conte, is also a co-founder and the current CEO of Patreon. I've been a huge fan of his since way back in his own coversong/mashups/solo career days on YouTube (e.g. Aphex Twin / Bright Eyes mashup, Panic at The Disco cover, Radiohead/Chopin mashup, Gulf). God, hard to believe it's already been 15 years since then. O_o
I didn't know that Conte is a co-founder of Patreon. That's crazy and interesting, thanks for the link! And thanks for the link to Jack Conte's early works. That is really cool, I will check them out tomorrow.
In their B.T.S. + Maroon 5 Mashup with David Choi they mention that his is one of the first YouTubers that Conte had ever seen. In like 2007, haha. Let's all agree as a group that 2007 was like 6 years ago. We'll all feel better. ^_^;
Yeah, and 1990 was only 20 years ago, right? Riiiiiight!!? (Sticks fingers in ears, and head in sand) :P
I think I first heard of them back when Angry Birds was a big thing and they did a cover of the theme.
If you're on Spotify, they maintain the Pomplamoose Party playlist, which includes this and 158 (and counting) other songs of theirs. I often put this on shuffle as my workday soundtrack.
I'm in the awkward position of loving Pomplamoose and Scary Pockets but disliking mashups in general. I want to hear one song at a time! and all of it!
