I have no idea why the YouTube algorithm sent me (and clearly many other people, given the 1.2M views) to this video, but I'm glad it did since this was a lot of fun to watch. Apparently it's an annual Homecoming tradition at Langston University, a historic black University in Oklahoma with a well known marching band. All the people in this "funk train" are supposedly current band members as well as alumni.
p.s. My favorite part is around the 10 minute mark. The older guys still got moves! :P

Awesome video, these are the kinds of traditions that put a little joy in the heart. It's hard to watch this and not smile.

I've honestly found the YouTube algorithm to be pretty damn good compared to most others. It's pointed me towards a ton of really interesting stuff over the years, and some really great music I never would have encountered otherwise too. And IMO it's only gotten better with time, especially the new "New to you" section on the Home page which is great for new video and channel discovery.
The only thing I've found myself having to do occasionally is purge portions of my viewing history to get it to stop recommending videos on subjects I don't actually care about but just happened to watch a bunch of videos on. E.g. I watched a bunch of vacuum review videos when I was looking to buy a new vacuum cleaner, but then it wouldn't stop recommending more vacuum related videos after that. Once I deleted all the vacuum related videos from my history it thankfully stopped doing that though. :P
