Yesss absolutely, give me all the costume jewelry. I just can't afford to pay for the grown up version only to realize it actually isn't my vibe. As far as rings, they've been the most challenging pieces to buy for me. I'm definitely in the upper range of ring sizes. I've been able to find some basic rings that have an adjustable band, but nothing that screams at me to put it on before leaving.

I adore whacky and novel earrings. I've spent so many hours on etsy just wishlisting wild earrings and bookmarking stores. I've been watching out for a pair that strikes me as elegant too. I can't go to someone's wedding with dangly sriracha bottle earrings!!

:p I grew up being criticized for wanting to wear jewelry because it's "tacky and slutty", so I hide a lot of accessories to this day....

i'm sorry :( tacky and slutty are compliments IMO. i feel like when name-calling gets involved it just means they could be doing the thing you're doing and are mad they can't release their inhibitions and feel the rain on their skin. I mean,

I try to wear a piece everywhere that it is normal to do so. it makes me feel like attention will go to the pieces of jewelry instead of wherever areas that I don't feel confident about. True or not, it makes me FEEL that way and that's what's important lol. I don't feel like I notice a lot of people wearing matching jewelry sets much, it does read a little formal but not massively. your link seems to not work :(

On accessories, I'm also a big fan of little neck scarves and hair bows. They just look so darling. I hardly have any though and I bet etsy would be a great place to get some.

Love thrift stores! I think I'll always be a mashup of aesthetics and a thrift store is about as varied as it gets. I'm lucky that a friend of mine works at a thrift store so I very very often get first glance at new stuff coming in. Once my wardrobe is a bit bigger I'm going to try to convert to thrift/2nd hand only. I've been working to cut out all fast fashion purchases.

This is the first time I've ever been excited for the Grammys! I've always been an indie nerd, but I would sample the charts from time to time and leave disappointed. Not this fucking year. This year all I have done is listened to pop. The girls at the top are just forces to be reckoned with.

I plan on making predictions for each category, but my AOTY is between Chappell and Charli. Would anyone be interested in doing some kind of prediction competition?

you're so right. i think for a long time i was afraid to put down the money for jewelry pieces because i wasn't sure about what i liked. but i figured out the truth: i do know what i like, i'm just afraid other girls won't like my outfits, jewelry, etc. i needed affirmation so bad, i was frequently running pieces by friends before i would purchase. like "hey is this cute or am i going to look dorky?". i just realized what a disservice i was doing myself. expressing my genuine self is a huge part of being trans for me, i don't need a stamp of approval to wear things i like.

i'm truly thankful for the online queer community. there's a lot of kindness that goes around, or at least there has been from my point of view. as toxic as the internet has become, i'm grateful for the day i learned the word "transgender" on reddit and everything else fell into place.

I keep all my clothes in a cupboard under my staircase so my parents don't find them. I'm 32 years old. This doesn't feel cute. Getting ready feels like a chore because I have to drag out every femme piece of clothing I own out of that cupboard, dig through it, etc. I want a real closet and a pretty vanity to get ready at. I never thought I'd still be living with my parents at 32. I fell to depths of depression that I didn't know existed. I felt ways that I didn't know I could, ways I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. That's what landed me in this circumstance so I try to give myself some grace, but it's hard not to be ashamed. I've come a long way the last 6 months. I was afraid things were going to end badly. There's a lot of work to do and the fear of my depression getting that severe again looms over me, but I'm proud of myself for still being here.

So like, Blackrock Depths, will the bosses be reimagined as far as their move sets to be more in line with modern raids? Or is it just going to be tweaked and scaled?

I really excited for this! I've only dabbled in WoW over the last 20 years, but I've put in a much more substantial amount of time this expansion. This all sounds really fun. I'm excited to get those armor sets. I love most of them, they look phenomenal, and it's really cool that they created sets for classes that didn't exist using the others as inspiration.

Beast Master is what I play the most though and admittedly... I don't love the hunter set, but I'll still get it lol. I play a lot of Demon Hunter as well, and I think that set looks phenomenal.

I don't know if I'll still be an RCA by the time these launch at my station, but goddamn I'll be happy to have something that works. The vehicle currently assigned to my route is always breaking down, making for long days sitting waiting for them to bring me a substitute. They inevitably "fix" it, and the process starts over again. I already suck at the job so a bad vehicles doesn't help me get any better.

Would this at all fit what you're looking for: Friends & Fables D&D 5e AI Game-master

I tried it out for a few minutes and seemed novel and decent enough to warrant a try. I will always prefer people over AI anything. The human element, flaws and all, is the fulfilling part. That said, sometimes circumstances keep us from getting together to play at a table. I'm going to play with Friends & Fables some more, let me know what you think if you try!

I didn't see a topic for this and felt like it was important to share. A Tildes user shared the Tiny Awards with me last year, but voting had already began. Regardless, I became obsessed with the idea and ended up learning a lot about the small web aka indie web or as the Tiny Awards frames it, the personal internet.

I'm personally exhausted by what the internet has become. I had a lot more fun on the internet in the 2000's than I do today. Part of that is that I've gotten older so nostalgia is painting my memories, but I don't I think it's unfair to say that internet has gotten really fucking big. A;long this big boom has came the tech giants with their platforms that big chunks of the internet have conglomerated under. I'm not really interested in arguing whether that's good or bad. (here anyways, maybe as a separate topic. I hope this thread will be a joyful discussion of the sites nominated for the Tiny Awards.)

I haven't went through the nominees yet, but I considered many(all?) of the nominees last year to be art;. They were clearly personal and singular expressions of their creators. I felt like I could understand a bit of the personality of the person behind each site which is not something I ever feel on today's most commonly used platforms.

So yeah, tldr; go check out these expressive, creative, experimental, and personal websites and cast a vote! I don't know when voting closes, but the winner will be announced August 18th so there can't be too much time left.

Tiny Awards has a post about 2023's awards here

I tried the multiplayer and felt as lost as I did trying to play Marathon multiplayer. For me the big thing is hit recognition. I only got 3 kills in a game, but I don't even know who I hit. Lacks that chemical reaction you get from ding sounds lol. I think I'd rather play Quake, it still holds up imo.

The singleplayer in Doom is still really fun and satisfying though. My first time playing the campaign and really enjoying the monster sprites and the way the guns feel. Could do without the labyrinth maps, but I imagine they're part of the nostalgia for a lot of people. Shotgunning someone is just as satisfying as a shotgun should be, but I always kill myself with rockets. The other weapons are solid enough, but I keep the shotgun out 90% of the time.

Going to finish DOOM 1&2 campaigns first, but would like to try some of the promoted mods and user uploaded ones. Any suggestions?
