    Gods this got me.

My poor wife has been through the fucking ringer this year; C-Section (planned), gall bladder removal, 6 months of chemotherapy and all the absolute shit that comes with it, superficial blood clots, 2 biopsies. The final task is a double mastectomy in less than a week.

I’ve been in survival mode for the past 6 months as 90% the primary caretaker for our son, helping my wife with whatever I can, and taking full care of our 6 year old Golden Retriever’s needs. He developed hypercalcemia in July, was diagnosed with lymphoma, and made it until last Friday when we had to say goodbye.

It’s been an astonishingly terrible year (outside of our son, who is an absolute joy), and when it’s over and my wife has recovered I’m going to blast this song so loud that my neighbors are gonna call the cops.

    Thank you for posting this.

There's clearly a story behind this video and it should be shared. It's not just them singing a song. This is Karinya Chen. A 15 year old girl who had battled terminal bone cancer for 5 years. She was at "Hospice Austin" and had tickets to go see a Florence and the Machine concert. She couldn't due to health concerns. But the hospice reached out to Florence and was able to explain the situation and Florence came to sing just to her. With that being said this day was clearly something very special and since unfortunately Karinya has passed away. These acts of kindness are what makes this world so nice to be in and makes us realize how precious not only life is but how important something as simple as music can be to us in times of need.

I love Florence Welch. Probably my top wished-for live musical experience. I find it fascinating the way she not only does the song perfectly in a different form (acoustically) from a cold start, but she manages the whole room gracefully to build the experience and bring everyone into it. Truly a great musician and performer.

This live performance of Sky Full of Song is one of my favorites. Chills as the storm starts to come in while she is singing.
